The Cantonal Building Office (OCBA) is developing a modern school facility in Meyrin with over 100 classrooms and sports infrastructures.
The Cantonal Building Office (OCBA) of Geneva is planning the construction of a school facility that will house the Noëlla-Rouget Secondary School II in Meyrin, on the site of the former gravel pit, at the intersection of Avenue Sainte-Cécile and Avenue Auguste-François-Dubois.
The new building will include more than 100 classrooms, science labs, music and visual arts rooms, creative activity spaces, offices and meeting rooms, a library, a cafeteria and kitchen, an auditorium, a gymnasium, a triple sports hall, and four patios, spread over four levels: one basement and three above-ground floors.
Earthworks and special foundation works are nearing completion. In total, approximately 50,000 m³ have been excavated. The special works include strutted and anchored Berlin-type retaining walls and nailed walls. Around 270 piles have been drilled to found the building on ancient alluvial deposits.
In January 2026, the masonry contractor will mobilize and begin pipeline installation, trench excavations, and concreting of the raft foundations.
