Numerical simulation for the medical field

INGPHI extends its areas of expertise in numerical simulation to life sciences, in collaboration with the maxillo-facial surgery unit of the Lausanne University Hospital. Parametric studies are carried out on finite element models of fractured mandible. Results then help planning surgeries, optimizing procedures and developing new surgery techniques. In the medical field, the finite element method helps reducing risks and allows developing specifically tailored treatments for patients.
