Demolition of the existing footbridge

Following a mandate of expertise which allowed to highlight the important degradations of the wooden structure of the “Pont Rouge” on the Venoge, between the communes of Denges and Écublens, this one had been the subject of a monitoring during nearly 2 years. In summer 2022, the progression of vertical displacements accelerated, reaching the warning thresholds. The structure was closed to pedestrians for safety reasons.

The existing structure was demolished in early November. The analysis of the wood sections after demolition of the existing bridge confirmed the extent of the very advanced degradation of the wood structure.

The reconstruction project is underway.
