At the start of August, the second phase of the rehabilitation project of the mountain side Flon bridge will end. For this phase, the working zone was located on a central strip of the deck and traffic was maintained on both sides. During this work phase, that started on June 15th, 2018, the following work was done:

– Removal of the cover concrete on the top side of the deck slab using high pressure water jets and strengthening with an overlay of micro-concrete;

– Concreting of the 4 half-joints of the central longitudinal beam;

– Construction of the manholes for abutment joint inspection and placement of the road joints

– Placement of the waterproofing layer and bituminous overlay.

After this phase, 2/3 of the deck has been rehabilitated.
