Progress of the excavation work on the Elysée – Mudac site
The excavation work is progressing very quickly, at a rate of 1000 m3/day. Up to know, over 45’000 m3 of excavated material was transported outside of the site.
The final bottom of the excavation will soon be reached, with an excavation depth between 21 m and 13 m. The excavation support walls are mainly made of a concrete soldier pile wall.
The concrete piles are anchored using many rows of prestressed tie back anchors. Over 4.5 km of piles and 9 km of tie back anchors were executed.
