Excavation and Geotechnical Works for the Western Link

To the west of the new buildings for the Elysée museum and mudac, the Western Link is a road for active mobility. Which will link Plateforme 10 site to avenue Marc-Dufour, in Lausanne. This new link is a part of the pedestrian and bicycle path planned between Lausanne and Morges. It will allow users to take a 11-m vertical difference along the hill side located between the train tracks and Villard road.

During spring, a 9-m high protection barrier was built to separate the construction site from the SBB train tracks. The excavation works and the construction of the soil nail wall could then start in August. These works will allow the construction of a reinforced concrete retaining wall which will support the active mobility pathway.
