On the slopes between Gryonne and La Barboleuse, a new alignment is taking shape: straighter, wider, and more responsive to the landscape. Where the road once wound closely along the mountainside, a bridge now moves away from the slope, returning space to the forest and offering a pedestrian path from which a wide view over the valley will unfold.
On this section, the realignment works for the road and railway continue. The project combines the construction of a bridge over 160 m long with the installation of retaining structures, galleries and anchored walls required to widen the platform in this demanding mountain environment.
To document this collective effort and make visible all interventions contributing to the structure’s completion, a video illustrates the different stages of the worksite. It shows the daily commitment of the teams, in the office and on site, and highlights the precise operations, methods used, site constraints and the variety of professions involved.
It also recalls the complexity of transforming a mountain alignment while ensuring traffic continuity and user safety. A sequence of technical interventions that together prepare a smoother, safer infrastructure that is better integrated into the landscape. And, once completed, a bridge that will be more than a connection: it will also become a vantage point, a place to cross and to observe.
