Transports publics fribourgeois Immobilier (TPF IMMO) and the Commune of Châtel-Saint-Denis are building a complex of residential, commercial and service buildings as part of the redevelopment of the “En Fossiaux” area near the new Châtel-St-Denis railway station. The building complex comprises four perimeters linked to the basements by a parking lot.
Construction of the buildings required an excavation up to 10 m deep. The retaining structures required anchored Berlin walls and underpinning along the railroad tracks.
The buildings follow the PAD (Plan d’aménagement de détail) right-of-way, giving them a variety of plan geometries. The buildings are constructed in reinforced concrete. It is of the monolithic floor-slab type. The slabs are superimposed and supported by columns, load-bearing walls, windchests and load-bearing walls.
The vertical bearers follow three different load-bearing grids: a parking and cellar grid, a commercial and activity grid, and a residential grid. The forces between these different grids are taken up by load-bearing walls, as well as bottom and top chords.
Digital models were used to produce all execution, formwork and reinforcement drawings.
On-site construction was carried out using the digital model, without the need for paper plans.
