The main excavation works were finished on April 18th 2019. Over 66 000 m3 of excavation materials were removed by the contractor of work package 1.

Regarding geotechnical works, 210 concrete soldier piles, 660 prestressed ground anchors, 250 soil nails and 4 200 m2 of shotcrete were executed as retaining systems to secure the deep excavation. Finally, 120 cast-in place piles were bored for the foundations of the new buildings.

To this day, excavation works in the molasse is ongoing at a great rate to create the overdepths for the future foundations of the main building for the Elysée and mudac museum.
